[En] Seen from the street the Bellvitge apartment blocks at the edge of Barcelona reveal themselves for what they actually are: small homes piled one on another. Some windows have flowers, many more have clothes hung out to dry, air conditioning units, satellite dishes, birds in cages... Interiors flaunted at the sun, they project to the outside world a private space otherwise not visible from the street. This opaque façade of the housing block in the periphery of the city seems to condemn, hide and associate privacy with obscenity (Lefebvre), coexisting in apparent contradiction with the glass transparency of corporate buildings, which enclose a space filled with light and free air (Benjamin). The nakedness of the corporate worker, which can be glimpsed from the street in the business center of the city, is a counterpoint to those clothes hung out to dry and the birds in cages of the housing blocks in the peripheries; and to those high windows whose bars are not to protect oneself from outside intrusion but from what lies inside.

[Cast] Vistos desde la calle los bloques de Bellvitge se nos muestran como lo que realmente son: un amontonamiento de hogares pequeños. Algunas ventanas tienen flores, en las más hay ropa tendida al sol, aparatos de refrigeración, antenas parabólicas, pájaros en jaulas. Interiores asomados al sol que ofrecen a la calle la intimidad de un espacio privado que no sería visible desde la calle. Esta fachada opaca de bloque de periferia, que condena, oculta y asocia lo privado con lo obsceno (Lefebvre), coexiste en contradicción aparente con la transparencia del cristal de los edificios corporativos que encierra un espacio lleno de luz y de aire fresco (Benjamin). La desnudez de las relaciones laborales corporativas, y que podemos ver desde la acera de una calle céntrica, contrasta con la ropa tendida al sol y los pájaros en jaulas de los bloques periféricos; y con esas ventanas con rejas que no sirven, naturalmente, para protegerse del mundo de afuera, sino del de dentro.
